This video breaks down into four pieces, how properly planned and selected data-driven approach could lead to SEVEN TIMES faster render speed, for on-demand video production. Same rendering machine, same project - 7 times more efficient results. It showcases an outcome, as well as reveals key insights how it was achieved.
Football stats videos from Eredivisie in this example are driven by .json API data source from Opta, based on football matches statistics. When game finishes, data through API is downloaded to a server, and processed to update template's design, automatically. My task in this project was to find a dynamic solution adapt existing video template design to be suitable for automatic, data-driven production.
After making analysis of potential approaches, solution was offered and implemented, which allowed at least seven times faster turnaround time, with less prone to errors.
